During the laser cutting procedure, there is laser beam used to cut different materials like metal, plastic, wood, rubber, etc. Laser cutting machines are equipped with computer-controlled programming that determines how and where the interface is integrated in the material.

The type of laser defines what type and thickness of material it can cut through, because different laser types have different power ranges. Usually, higher power lasers are used on an industrial scale to cut out large sections of sheet metal or plastics, while lower power lasers are used for a wide range of thinner, more potentially flammable materials like paper and card stock, wood, and some plastics.

Our laser cutting is a slitting process with which metallic and non-metallic raw materials of different material thicknesses may be cut. All materials common in industrial processing – from steel to aluminum, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metal sheets, all the way to non-metal materials such as plastics, glass, wood, or ceramics – can be cut safely and in high quality with our lasers.

Laser Cutting of Metals

Lasers have the least thermal effect on metals than of all the thermal cutting processes. Laser cut edges are finished with precise quality, with no need of further deburring or grinding. Metal materials are ideally cut with our lasers including: mild steel up to 20mm, carbon steel up to 20mm as well as alloy and tool steel. Steels that are known as conventionally difficult to machine can be laser cut regardless of their hardness.

Laser Cutting of Organics (Plastics)

The intense heat source of our lasers break down the polymer chains of plastic to provide fast, accurate cutting. In acrylics, laser cutting provides a very clean mirror finished edge that requires no further work.

Laser Cutting of Composites

Lightweight fibre reinforced polymers are difficult to machine with conventional cutting tools and the non-contact cutting properties of the laser are more readily suited to them. We are more than capable to produce accurate and precise finished fibre products.

Laser Cutting of Rubber

The laser quickly vaporises both natural gum and synthetic rubber in thickness up to 19mm allowing precise laser cutting for items such as gaskets.
