Laser cutting technology has come a long way. Today, laser cutting materials include metal, plastic, wood, rubber and the like. Computer-controlled laser cutting machines determine how and where the machine’s interface is integrated in the material.

The type of laser defines what type and thickness of material it can cut through, because different laser types have different power ranges. Laser Cutting of Metals

Lasers have the least thermal effect on metals out of all thermal cutting processes. This requires no further deburring or grinding owing to laser cut edges finished with precise quality. Laser cutting of metals includes mild steel up to 20mm, carbon steel up to 20mm as well as alloy and tool steel. Steels that are known as conventionally difficult to machine can be laser cut regardless of their hardness.

The intense heat source of our lasers break down the polymer chains of plastic to provide fast, accurate cutting. Laser cut acrylics provide a very clean mirror finished edge that requires no further work.

The laser quickly vaporises both natural gum and synthetic rubber in thickness up to 19mm allowing precise laser cutting for items such as gaskets.
